In gym we started gymnastics (BP).

We had book club today (AR).

In social studies we learned about story robes and created stories using symbols (AR).

In math we started division! (EG)

- Pink Shirt Day is on Wednesday. We have a Friendship dance that afternoon.
- Family Movie Night is on Thursday.
- Popcorn sales on Wednesday
- Library Day tomorrow

COVID-19 Update

Dear Acadia Families, First of all, I would like our families to know how much we are already missing our students.  There are only a few times that schools are open with a full staff and no children and that is usually in August when we are excitedly preparing for a new school year or in June as we clean up in preparation for the following school year.  Being here at school in March with no students is very odd for all of us.  Please know that we are thinking about our families every day and wish everyone the best.   We understand that families are wanting to collect their child’s personal belongings from school and we have been advised through guidelines, set out by Alberta Health Services, to create a schedule for families regarding pick-up of student personal belongings.   Personal belongings include indoor shoes, water bottles, or items brought from home.  We will also be returning student’s money for our Texas donut sale orders and any medications that parents may ha

February 20th 2020

Today we continued with our cookie math problem from yesterday. We found that there are lots of different ways that you can split up 36 cookies. After recess we had book club. We also read a story called "Secret of the Dance" and talked about First Nations people. We learned about the Indian Act and how it prevented First Nations people from having ceremonies, doing their dances, or having family dinners. This afternoon we did a survey with Ms. Brown. After that we read another story called "Thunder Boy Jr.". We talked about how First Nations people showed their respect for the land in lots of different ways. One of the ways they did this was through their names! We also talked about how they choose something (like a bear) to represent their clan (family). We all drew a picture of something from nature that represents our classroom and we are creating a classroom clan symbol.
