BluPlanet came today. We made posters for the whole school to see. They are about how to put our waste in the proper bins. In math we did a tricky word problem about saving money. In gym we played mini games of floor hockey. In science we did an experiment about reflective materials. We tested out what makes the best reflective materials. The best reflective materials are shiny materials. We also talked about Bell Let's Talk Day. We talked about mental health. Reminders: * Donut Sales are due February 4th * Pink Shirt Day is on February 26th
*** Important Reminders *** - If you have not brought your field trip form back by tomorrow morning, you will not be coming! Please bring your form - Make sure you have a good lunch for tomorrow. We will be eating at the museum. - We are leaving at 8:15am tomorrow In math we continued with the box method. This afternoon we talked about the Glenbow Museum. We explored the Glenbow Museum website to find cool and interesting artifacts and we will look for them in person tomorrow. We did some health today. Today we talked about the Canada Food Guide and how it is important to eat healthy food for our body and our brains. See you all tomorrow!
Today we had a practice of our assembly to begin our day. After recess we had the real deal! We had a different recess time with just grade 4's today. We played dodge ball and revenge tag in gym. Tomorrow is our Celebration of Learning! It is at 10:30am in our gym! It will be about half an hour. Please join us in sharing what we are learning!!! We had book club today. We learned a method for multiplication. It is called the Box Method. In science we created shadows using transparent, translucent and opaque materials. ** Please bring your field trip forms back if you have not done so yet.
Today in math we continued with the lattice method. Tomorrow we will be learning a new method for solving 2 and 3 digit multiplication. We practiced our Celebration of Learning with Ms. Martin's class. We are so excited to share with everyone what we have been learning! In science we brainstormed different translucent, transparent and opaque items. Tomorrow we will experiment with creating shadows using these different types of materials. In the afternoon we worked on our newspaper articles. We had a writer's workshop where we edited a partner's work. Reminders - Please return field trip forms ASAP and pay online if possible - If any parents are free to volunteer on January 28th for our field trip, our class still needs more volunteers - Our Celebration of Learning is on Friday! We also learned about transparent, opaque and translucent materials. We did writing on computers about a newspaper article. We wrote our articles last week and today we edited them. In math, we did multiplication strategies for 1 digit multiplication. Our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Brown, came and did math with us today. Yesterday in math we learned about a 2 digit multiplication strategy called the lattice method. You can ask me how to solve 678 x 9.
